"Sub Surface Scattering Material Test"

One thing about being an artist is that you look at the oddest things. For instance an artist like me spends time looking at various substances and looking at how light reflects, absorbs, or in this case sinks in and then scatters beneath the surface. In fact this phenomenon is known as Sub Surface Scattering or SSS for short.

For a fun experiment take a laser pointer or a pen light and shine it through things like cheese, milk, even your hand! What you see is sub surface scattering.
