This is a purely artistic venture. Derive whatever meaning you wish from it. I just think it looked really cool so I thought "yep, that's art." and that was that :) I thought it was art. Hehe. Reflections are always something that people seem to have trouble with. Conceptually chrome tricks us a bit when we try to categorize it in our mental warehouse. Because the only thing you'll ever see is a reflection bent with the shape of the metal the chrome is dipped in many people think chrome should have colors. Well it can.. if it's outside reflecting the sky and trees etc. But chrome itself is a mirror and so it's only interesting if the chrome is in the proper environment and has something to reflect. One of the biggest problems for students is that there is a "chrome" material in most 3D applications but the "environment" is always some color, usually black for Autodesk Max users. So a chrome ball in that environment is just a black void. The ball is there doing it's trick.. reflecting back it's black environment. But hey now.. that's not very interesting. So in the future think... cooler environment, cooler chrome and you'll be in good shape. Hope that helps! :) I have a few other shots in this series that I may add later. |
