This was an initial design on the house design showcased earlier in the 3d gallery by A. Hays Town - Louisiana Architect. This had the hip roof more common in Town's designs however since the house was to be built in South Carolina we opted for a metal roof which was easier to clean spanish moss from. The lot was heavily wooded and trees preserved as much as possible to give the house as if it were very old. A lot of new houses are easily given away by the small trees planted on the site. When you put every detail into making an new house look like a historic site you don't forget you need old trees! ;)
